The Hungry Ghosts

Today is the 15th day of the seventh month in the lunar calendar here in Hong Kong, and the date of the Hungry Ghosts festival. It is somewhat compared with the Mexican Day of the Dead or a little more tenuously Halloween (or perhaps, more correctly Samhain).

Kinda excited to see what people do here on the island. I’ve already been seeing some people burning incense sticks and paper votives in buckets outside shops and houses the past few days so wondering what tonight will be like.
