Dark Age Temple Found in Turkey

I totally lurv these kind of announcements. Makes me feel like there is so much left to discover in a world that makes you think there’s few unexplored places left. And hey ! I was just there and missed finding it myself (and yay for the U of T ! Go Canada !) ! Seems a very interesting find as well, possibly giving evidence to reversing previous beliefs about the period.:

Written sources from the era—including the Old Testament of the Bible, Greek Homeric epics, and texts from Egyptian pharaoh Ramses III—record the transition from the Bronze Age to the Iron Age as a turbulent period of cultural collapse, famine, and violence.

But the newfound temple suggests that may not have been the case, say archaeologists from the University of Toronto’s Tayinat Archaeological Project, led by Timothy Harrison.

These things make me want to spend some more time finishing off the archaeology degree I started, a whack more travelling (or on digs) and the feeling I should be working on tools like IndyBot some more (but must focus on a strategy task I have this weekend… well, now demoted to a big brainstorm. What’s the best way to present a written brainstorm anyhow ?).
