Using the NikePlus site
Since, ahem… some people seem to be a little obsessed with how my run was and the Nike+iPod thing I thought I’d elaborate a little more.
I actually had to sync the nano today as I needed some more juice for the gym this aft (in case people are wondering, I ended up at Soho Gyms in Camden Town since they were by far the friendliest and most helpful gym I went to – and had a capoeirista who comes in and does training). Anyhow, the integration for the Nike+ shoes and the iPod sensor is already built into the new iTunes, which took me aback a little. It asked me if I wanted to automagically sync up to the Nike site each time (hmmm… do I really want Nike, not to mention my friends, knowing how bad I suck at roadwork ?… I answered yes anyway… ) and then prompts you to register for an account. It’s quite smooth actually though Nike asks for a lot more info than they need IMHO. But you do get some ultracool graphing and tracking capabilities right off the bounce. I have to admit I was pretty impressed with how it blocked off my run and showed where I obviously had to start and stop again (any smirky comments will be met with painful retribution when I see said commenter again !). This was my initial sad attempt at running. Note I did make 5.7 km which is much further than I thought I would have gone on that distance. Sadly, you can also see where I started walking in the midst of the run. Ahem.
