Club Dread
One of the problems with the holidays is that I suddenly am stuck in front of other peoples’ TV sets watching what they watch while making the seasonal rounds. This can often get you into some pretty bad movie plots that it is socially awkward to extricate yourself from. Club Dread more than qualifies as one of them.
I think they were trying to do the 80s equaivalent of a comedy/horror/sex film though it is not really funny enough to make this evident in the film.
There is one redeeming feature to this film though. The soundtrack has a great number of reggae classics on it and in fact, spotlighted one song that I had heard and been searching for for a long time, but never knew the name of, so I was really, really happy about finally finding an artist and name for that song.
Made it actually worth it sitting through the whole rest of the film.
