Cruel Intentions

Cruel Intentions is a surprisingly good modern adaptation of Dangerous Liaisons. Damn good actually.
Buffy is amazing as the evil stand-in for Glenn Close. And the guy makes a fantastic but infinitely less slimy Valmont than John Malokovich. The love interest is actually so much better than in Dangerous Liaisons because the prissy pretensions and high morality is not there so much as a simplicity in wanting something to be real.
Liked it a lot. In certain ways it reminds me of the same sort of adaptation, less the cooler rock and roll angle, as Romeo and Juliet.
